"I do what I do not want to do"

"For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do--this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it. So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me." -Romans 7:19-21

I have often wondered why I continue to do things that I do not want to do. Why I have judging thoughts toward others? Etc.... I have wondered if I am the only Christian who struggle with sin and not realizing that I am committing it until I have already done it?

When I read this scripture, it was like a light bulb was just flicked on in my head. And at the same time a huge sigh of relief came over me to know that I am by no means the only person who struggles with this. Some times we can so easily get caught up in our issues that we always think that we are the only ones who have ever had to deal with this.

Paul had the same issues that we have today. I am so glad to know that I am not the only one who struggles with sin when I am not wanting to sin. Praise God!

Christian
